Scurvy’s Selection: “The Unending Lies of Matt Walsh”

Hello folx! Are you ready to go deep on mainstreaming transphobic fascism? Then today’s Selection is right up your alley. Jessie Gender, in this epic and important video, wades through incalculable amounts of shit and nonsense, not to mention an actual Matt Walsh movie, to meticulously break down the pile of steaming vomit that is “What Is a Woman?”
The TL;DR of this 4 hour evisceration is that Matt Walsh’s flick concentrates all of the dangerous, bigoted lies about trans folx in one film presentation. And he brings his own family along for the ride. That’s right, this self-described christo-fascist is happily exploiting his wife and children while repeating eliminationist, Nazi trash to “own the libs.”
Now, I wrote that pretty quickly; so why is this video 4 hours long? Well, I wasn’t exaggerating; Jessie breaks Walsh’s hateful propaganda down in excruciating detail. Frame by frame, she fills in the context of who these people are, and the unsaid divisiveness inherent in Walsh’s framing. In some cases she even highlights the cinematographical choices made in the film, from cuts to camera angles. Altogether, our presenter definitively demonstrates how it is all designed to twist the actual truth, and modern science, to dehumanize trans people.
Given who the creator of “What is a woman?” is, there are many more than just anti-trans ideas exposed. For example, Walsh thinks *all* nudity is sexual. He thinks that his son only needs a BB gun in terms of emotional support. There is, of course, racism *everywhere* in “What Is a Woman?” as well. It takes time to highlight all of Walsh’s sophist bigotry, and Jessie goes further than that. She also connects all this propaganda back through its historical framing, and shows how it’s used to enforce rigid patriarchy and white supremacy in our society today.
Walsh claims his self-description of “christo-fascist” is ironic. Jessie pretty clearly shows he’s a fascist, no irony detected.
