An Ear For Decolonization
Good day folx!
For this week’s Selection we’re going to stick with the theme of decolonization. Why? Because it’s the most important step our colonizing fascist society can collectively take towards dismantling the entire totality of settler colonial fascism; as an ideology and an administrative system.
For many long years now, Rick Harp has been running the beloved Media Indigena podcast. It’s a general-interest Indigenous/American Indian presentation, based out of so-called Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; but the pod covers issues globally, with a focus on so-called America, and little regard for imposed colonial borders.
The show’s format has gone through several tweaks and changes over time; currently it’s a panel discussion podcast with Rick and featuring several other guests. There’s a rotating panel of different regular co-hosts, with experts and interested observers brought in regularly to cover basically everything happening on Turtle Island.
As always, I do recommend starting from episode 1 and binging your way forward to the present day. You’ll get a fantastic feel for how the show has grown and changed over the years and how they’ve covered different issues as Canada’s Colonial Clownery continues to repeat itself and try the same racialized fascist repression techniques, over and over.
In the episode I’ve chosen to highlight here, our hosts are dealing with the most recent revelation of Pretendian Nonsense. I’m speaking of course about the sad saga of Mary-Ellen Turpel-Lafond; a white person needlessly engaging in racist “red-face” and in the process shitting on her own FANTASTIC work over the years, while imploding her own credibility. Check it out below:
Scurvy’s selection is my weekly pick and as always, the content shared here is the product and property of the listed creator, or creators.
And with that, I’m out!
