American Fascism and Networks of Power on Can’t You Read

Editor’s note: well, it’s been an exasperating week but I wrote what is either a short essay or a long blog post on Can’t You Read; once again we’re looking at American fascism with a strong focus on what it’s going to look like post-Trump.

Unfortunately, due to online censorship of left wing and anarchist sources, I have to cross-pollinate links to new content on multiple websites. Furthermore, something tells me the Biden Administration is going to be no help at all in the fight against muzzling left wing dissident voices online; in other words, this is sadly a new-normal.

So be it; let’s just try to keep this brief shall we?

The Fish Rots From the Head

“I think one of the sticking points that makes it very hard for people in the Pig Empire to recognize fascism when they see it, is their inability to process that well-heeled businessmen, reactionary elected officials and heavily armed neo-nazi chuds in the streets, are all actively working on the same side. Fascism isn’t about one racist president and it isn’t going anywhere when Downmarket Mussolini finally exists the stage this January precisely because the fascist project is a complicated capitalist machine that flourishes with the help of politicians, but isn’t dependent on them for its survival. In today’s Recommended Reading post I go over the factors that will ensure the survival of “Trumpism” beyond the reign of Trump and then share an important essay by Alex Kotch that demonstrates exactly how integrated this project is; dark money rules everything around me – and you.
