Rwanda’s Bonzo Goes to Bitburg: ESPN Laps It Up
It’s a rare moment when my interest in basketball, crosses over with my interest in exposing war criminals and Pig Empire complicity in mass murders, but this May 7th, 2019 blog post on Media Madness certainly meets all the criteria. After the NBA decided in its infinite wisdom to fete genocidal Rwandan President Paul Kagami at a Warriors playoff game, my eyebrows raised a little bit; but when ESPN’s explicitly African American-centric imprint “The Undefeated:” decided to celebrate this affair as a triumph of Black excellence, the hypocrisy became too much to bear. Although this is by no means my longest, or most formal post, it does serve as a good reminder that at the end of the day none of us truly lives outside the experience of Pig Empire militancy and murder. “If Adolf Hitler flew in today, they’d send a limousine anyway” indeed.
“In one godawful piece that reads like a marketing insert for the NBA’s service to the Pig Empire, we’re presented with the NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, the President of the league’s most forward thinking franchise Masai Ujiri, the league’s most dominant team (the Golden State Warriors) and the NBA’s best individual player (Kevin Durant) falling all over themselves to lick boots for a genocidal goddamn war criminal – because he likes basketball and he’s interested in helping the NBA break into developing markets in Africa.”
