Info Meme of the Week: No Progress
Editor’s note: it’s just past five o’clock in the morning, I’m completely exhausted and I’ve never been quite sure anyone reads these editor’s notes anyway so with your forgiveness I’ll be extremely brief; if I had known moving was going to be this time-consuming and utterly miserable, I’d have just stayed in my old apartment and waited for the wrecking ball to kill me. I’m currently engaged in a nightly time-sharing battle for internet access with my boyfriend and I’m struggling to write at times in the day I wouldn’t otherwise do so. I sincerely meant to publish this piece almost a week ago, but no matter how hard I tried to set aside time for it – I just kept coming up short until a bout of insomnia gave me a little extra time this morning.

Please note: you can find sources for the information presented in this meme below and if you’re having trouble reading the (admittedly) small text, just left click on it and select “view image” to pop out a larger version – Booker’s a right sneaky bastard and it took a few more characters than normal to debunk his selfish lies.
Unfortunately but perhaps unsurprisingly, the Democratic Party and their loyal lackeys in the media have spent a great deal of time lying about, obfuscating the terms of and outright ignoring the horrible crime against the American people (and human decency) that Booker and his fellow toadies have perpetrated here. Despite claims otherwise, this amendment was neither symbolic nor unsafe and it absolutely would have passed if only four members of the Pharma Thirteen had simply voted for their constituents instead of the rich drug companies that fill their coffers. The resolution may also have had the additional side effect of making it harder for the Republicans to repeal the Affordable Care Act – but we’ll never know because these Democrat Senators voted to let poor Americans who can’t afford exorbitant medicine prices in the US literally fucking die.
As an additional side note, please be reminded that there is a non-zero percent chance that Cory Booker will be on the Democratic ticket in 2020 (despite his protestations otherwise) and if Trump’s term ends up as disastrous as it’s looking right now, he may well be running against Ted Cruz – who voted for cheaper medicines despite his opposition to Obamacare on a night when Booker voted to fuck over desperate poor people instead. Do you think Ted Cruz will remember? How about voters?
Bravo Cory, you actually managed to make Ted fucking Cruz look humane by comparison.
